Getting to Know Calgary’s Beltline Neighbourhood

Once rated as the best neighbourhood in Calgary, the Beltline is your go-to for urban adventures.

Home to over 20,000 Calgarians, the Beltline is an energetic amenity-rich community. One of the neighbourhood’s most colourful festivals is the August BUMP festival. The Beltline Urban Murals Project connects artists with walls, road works barriers, and other public spaces to create an expansive open-air gallery throughout the neighbourhood. 

The Beltline’s beauty is shown through its many parks and public art. Visit the Chinook Arc, a giant sculpture that colourfully lights up Barb Scott Park. Explore the picturesque Central Memorial Park or walk through the massive, terraced garden of the historic Lougheed House at Beaulieu Gardens. Additionally, you’ll find the one-of-a-kind High Park, a rooftop public park with fitness, recreational and performing arts events programming.

As Calgary’s urban core, this neighbourhood is filled with trendy restaurants, locally owned bistros, craft breweries, and café’s you’ll want to visit. One of the Beltline’s favourite restaurants, Ten Foot Henry, offers a fresh vegetable-anchored menu with a welcoming and unique environment. 

Shop ‘til you drop here in the Beltline. Home to some of the most impressive shops and boutiques, you could easily spend a day enjoying a little retail therapy. Every July Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood celebrates the world’s largest rodeo in the Calgary Stampede. This ten-day long celebration invites visitors from around the world to enjoy numerous midway rides, a parade, shopping, and live music featuring Blake Shelton. Additionally, you can take in the rodeo, dog bowl, or freestyle Motorcross events.
